Collection information is of key strategic importance to the Museum as it prepares for the New Museum project. The Museum's Librarian provides an important support role in maintaining the scientific and academic excellence of the Museum, as it seeks to produce public programs and relevant exhibitions to keep pace with the rapidly changing face of Western Australia. The Librarian will provide strategic advice on the development of library systems and manages the delivery of library services to Museum staff and the collections of the Museum library.

Conditions
This is a full-time, fixed-term (5 years) vacancy with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Job share arrangement may be considered.

There will also be a pool operating for a period of 12 months from initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool from which full-time, part-time, casual, fixed term or permanent appointments may be made.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department of Culture and the Arts Police Record Screening Policy.

Location
This position is located at the Museum's Collections and Research Centre at 49 Kew Street, Welshpool.

Job Description
Provides strategic advice on the development of library systems.  Responsible for managing the library and special library collections across all sites. Catalogues, classifies and indexes the collection, manages exchanges and loans between libraries, and maintains access to relevant electronic resources, library website and databases.
